Under the guidance of Ellen Prewitt, a longterm volunteer with Door of Hope and generous financial support from an anonymous donor from Germantown United Methodist Church, a collection of writers from the Writer’s Group were able to publish the book.  “Writing our Way Home – A Group Journey Out of Homelessness is available for purchase here, through Amazon.  Excerpts from the book, can be found here on the book’s Facebook page.  Proceeds from this book are divided evenly among the writers and Door of Hope.

The plan to publish a book began in November 2012 at the Writer’s Group Book Retreat at Germantown United Methodist Church.  The authors in the book are those who were in the Writer’s Group at the time of the retreat and who wanted to be in the book.  The authors chose what they wanted to include in the book, from their weekly writing folder & chose which section it should go in.
